From January 28th to February 8th, 2024, the College of Engineering, NU, hosted a comprehensive nine-day graduate upskill program, TAHSIN 2024. The program aimed to equip participants with enhanced technical, professional, and personal skills to bolster their employability in the job market.<\/p>\n
The inaugural day set the tone for the entire workshop series with a session facilitated by the esteemed Dean, Dr. Ahmed Al Bulushi, addressing the theme “Your First Destination: What Does It Take?” Following this, Ms. Bahiya Al Amri, Manager of HR & Administration, delivered valuable insights on “The Next Step after Graduation.”<\/p>\n
On the second day, they delved into Corporate Development skills, spearheaded by Dr. Priy Brat Dwivedi and his proficient team. Subsequently, the workshop was strategically divided into two streams on the third, fourth, and fifth days. The civil engineering stream, by Dr. Akbar Karimi, Dr.Sitish Sing, and Dr.Hafez, addressed pertinent topics. Simultaneously, the Electrical and Communication Engineering and Mechanical and Industrial Engineering streams were led by the highly accomplished Dr. Thirumurugan Shanmugam.<\/p>\n
The sixth day featured a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) awareness workshop organized by Oman HSE Professionals under the guidance of Mr. Yarub Al Senani, Vice President and co-founder. The seventh day offered a unique perspective with a special talk and workshop by distinguished alumni Ms Hannan Al Harthi and Ms Tasnim, both successful contributors to the field of engineering and distinguished alumni of the College of Engineering.<\/p>\n
On the eighth day, the focus shifted to entrepreneurship at the Oman Innovation Center, providing participants with valuable insights into innovative practices. The program culminated on the ninth day with an enriching industrial visit to Oman Optic Fiber in Al Rusayl, offering participants a practical glimpse into industry operations.<\/p>\n
The Tahsin 2024 Organizing Committee meticulously organized the entire event. The committee comprises mechanical and Industrial engineering faculty, jointly with the civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computing Engineering, Mathematics and Applied Science, and Professional Development and Humanities departments, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience for all participants.<\/p>\n
