About this program

The MSc program in Construction and Project Management is designed to prepare graduate students technically and practically with advanced knowledge and skills that match the growing requirements of the construction industry locally, regionally and internationally. Students will gain a strong understanding of the construction industry environment and modern management concepts to deal with complexities and challenges associated with the construction environment. The graduates will gain a concrete understanding about the traditional and modern methods in construction and be able to face future challenges in the field.

Fundamental courses involve Corporate and Business Management, Operations Analysis and Management, Procurement Methods and Contract Law, and Project Management. Modern topics include courses such as sustainability in the construction industry, building information modeling in construction, risk management and economical and financial management for engineers.

Students enrolled in the MSc program of Construction and Project Management are required to complete successfully 45 credit hours to be awarded the MSc degree.

Career Opportunities

Graduated students occupy leadership positions in the construction industry as well as having gained research capabilities and skills in academia. The program curriculum consists of a set of fundamental knowledge courses and modern topics needed in the dynamic construction environment.

Entry requirements

In addition to the general master’s entry requirements, the specific program requirements are as follows:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any construction and built environment related subject - (e.g. Quantity Surveying, Building Services, Construction Engineering and Management, Architecture; Civil Engineering, Measurement and Cost Engineering)
  • Candidates from other disciplines may be considered case by case if they have relevant work experience not less than 3 years.
  • Proficiency in English language equivalent to IELTS band 6 or TOEFL equivalent for the applicants who were not assessed and taught in English Bachelor Degree level
