About this program

BEng Civil Engineering Program is a four year degree program. This program relates to the introduction of the most common practices of civil engineering such as wastewater treatment, solid waste management, structural design and the rehabilitation of structures. This program creates awareness of environment-related issues and important on protection of natural resources. Students also learn how to manage the execution of civil engineering projects by setting goals, planning time, preparing budgets and considering indicators of quality while at the same time being sensitive to environmental constraints.

The degree is awarded after the successful completion of 132 credit hours of undergraduate work listed in the curriculum below, including a compulsory industrial internship and Capstone project.

Career Opportunities

Civil Engineering graduates have opportunities for employment in a wide range of fields and occupations. They are employed in the construction industries relating to their specialization, as design engineers, site engineers, project manager, quality engineers and environmental engineers in Oman and abroad.
They also work on construction sites, consulting firms, government institutions, or pursue postgraduate education. Graduates also become entrepreneurs, teachers and researchers.
